UX Research & Design Intern | Marketeq
The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at Marketeq, located remotely (U.S. Based). Marketeq is a lean, agile startup dedicated to helping enterprise organizations navigate and optimize their technology stacks. This role is crucial for transforming complex business requirements into intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-Time (15–20 hrs/week)
• Location: Remote
• Team: Reports to a Senior Designer, collaborates with fellow interns.
• Mission: Own the end-to-end design process for specific feature sets.
• Tech Stack: Figma (components, auto-layout, prototyping)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Discovery & Strategy: Distill stakeholder requirements into actionable user journey maps and mental models.
• Architecture: Design site maps and user flow diagrams that simplify complex enterprise navigation.
• Prototyping: Build low-to-high fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma.
• Collaboration: Participate in design reviews and “crit” sessions with the Senior Designer and fellow interns.
• User Advocacy: Analyze user feedback and competitive landscapes to propose data-driven UI enhancements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a workshop, bootcamp, online class, or bachelor’s degree program in user experience, graphic design, human computer interaction, or a related field.
• Experience: High proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and prototyping features.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of typography, hierarchy, and accessibility standards.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and translate them into simple, logical user flows.
• Familiarity with UX research methods such as user journeys, competitive analysis, and mental models.
• Effective critical thinking and remote collaboration skills.
