Responsibilities

The Undergraduate Internship provides relevant field experiences in your chosen field of study. You will be assigned one or more mentors who will provide instruction, guidance, and assess your performance. Key responsibilities include:

• Observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit.
• Completing selected work assignments designed to reinforce learning, assess performance, and benefit the work unit.
• Completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo Clinic and your educational facility.

The duration and timing of the internship will be arranged with you and your sponsoring educational facility. Please note that placement in our internship program does not include financial assistance with relocation, housing, or transportation. All interns must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program from an accredited college or university.
• Ideally, this internship would occur after the student has completed most of the courses required by their degree program.
• Must have authorization to work and remain in the United States without the need for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Compensation and Schedule

• Compensation: $18.50 / hour
• Exemption Status: Nonexempt
• Benefits Eligible: No
• Schedule: Part Time, Supplemental/PRN
• Hours/Pay Period: Variety of hours based on project assignments, up to 40 hours weekly
• International Assignment: No
