Team Six Shop Leadership Intern | Six Flags

The Tone:
This is an internship at Six Flags, located in Waukegan, IL (In-person). Six Flags is a world-renowned theme park company dedicated to providing exceptional entertainment experiences. This vital role supports the park’s operations by overseeing the daily functions of the Team Six shop, which directly provides essential uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to park team members. You will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all team members, directly contributing to their ability to perform their duties effectively.

The TL;DR

• Mission: This person owns the problem of ensuring the efficient daily operations of the Team Six shop, managing inventory and transactions to provide a seamless experience for park team members regarding their uniform and PPE needs.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, databases

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Oversight: Oversee the comprehensive daily operations of the Team Six shop, encompassing efficient inventory management, accurate transaction processing, and vigilant monitoring of stock levels.
• Team Member Support: Act as a key resource for park team members by developing and maintaining thorough knowledge of uniform requirements across all departments, and assisting with the washing and drying of essential Maintenance and Food & Beverage PPE items.
• Team Development: Facilitate the growth of Team Six shop team members by providing effective on-the-job training, consistent follow-up, and offering coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations as necessary.
• Shop Management: Ensure the shop’s impeccable appearance and organization at all times, thoroughly complete all opening and closing checklists, and coordinate and manage break times in strict adherence to Six Flags policies.
• Policy Enforcement and Reporting: Administer corrective actions for issues related to attendance or performance, enforce all Park and Departmental policies, and report pertinent operational and team member information to full-time leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: You are at an early career stage and must be a minimum of 18 years of age to fulfill this internship role.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability in executing inventory control functions, facilitating team member development through training, and monitoring daily operations for efficiency. This includes supporting the completion of departmental paperwork accurately and providing constructive feedback for improvements.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel, and the capability to understand and effectively navigate databases. You must also possess strong multi-tasking abilities, excellent organizational skills, and demonstrated teamwork skills.
• Bonus: A professional, self-motivated, and enthusiastic attitude, along with a willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and outdoors in various weather conditions.
