Chargé de mission logistique F/H – Stage 6 mois | Metro AG

The Tone:
This is a full-time, 6-month internship at Metro AG, located at the Cholet platform. Metro AG is actively seeking to reinforce its logistics team and offers this opportunity for a logistics mission intern. The role is designed to integrate the intern directly into the platform team, where they will contribute to high-value projects that interact with external logistics and transport providers. This position is vital for the active preparation and standardization of processes for the upcoming 2027 season, providing a unique, transversal perspective of the entire supply chain. It strongly emphasizes analytical thinking, continuous improvement methodologies, and the practical application of performance steering within a major retail environment.

• Mission: Reinforce the logistics team by contributing to high-value projects, supporting external logistics and transport providers, and actively preparing and securing the 2027 season with a focus on analytical, improvement, and performance steering aspects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor: Systematically follow up on and analyze progress plans that have been defined in collaboration with external logistics and transport providers.
• Coordinate: Actively contribute to the coordination of diverse projects, working closely with both the internal procurement teams and the Halles (stores) to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare: Participate in the comprehensive preparation of the 2027 season, focusing on securing operational processes, standardizing key logistical steps, and formally documenting all identified improvement actions.
• Analyze: Conduct in-depth analysis of key performance indicators, encompassing quality, costs, and delivery deadlines, then propose concrete axes for optimization and efficiency gains.
• Develop: Create various analytical tools, comprehensive dashboards, clear procedural guidelines, and supportive materials to systematically capitalize on feedback and lessons learned, culminating in a robust standardization “book.”

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current Master’s Degree student or a final-year student pursuing a degree in logistics, supply chain management, transport, engineering, or data analysis. This is an entry-level professional opportunity.
• Experience: A first professional experience, whether gained through an internship or an apprenticeship, specifically within logistics or supply chain management, is highly valued.
• Skills: Strong foundational knowledge in logistics and transport, including understanding flow organization, transport documents, and regulations. A comprehensive grasp of the supply chain and the interactions among its various actors. Demonstrated comfort with numbers and data analysis, including simple statistics and result coherence. An excellent level of proficiency in Excel, specifically with pivot tables and advanced functions such as XLOOKUP, SUMIF, and COUNTIF.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Power BI and VBA programming. Personal qualities such as an analytical mind, rigor, autonomy, organizational skills, curiosity, open-mindedness, a strong desire to learn, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally within an evolving, continuous improvement-oriented environment.
