Senior Accountant | HelloFresh
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HelloFresh, located in Toronto, ON, Canada. HelloFresh, a meal-kit company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a pivotal role in its financial operations. This position is central to analyzing and continuously improving internal controls and financial reporting processes, while also serving as a key business partner to various departments across the organization. The individual will contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting packages within a high-growth environment.

• Mission: This person will partner with departments across the organization to analyze and continuously drive improvement in internal controls and financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statement Ownership: Take ownership of key areas of the financial statements by collecting and verifying financial information, providing supporting schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy of P&L and balance sheet accounts.
• Process Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain accurate accounting processes and procedures for inventory, accruals, and leases, including IFRS 16 assessments.
• Business Partnering: Act as a business partner to procurement, operation, data, and FP&A teams to bridge accounting actuals to budget and forecast, striving to continuously improve transparency of financial results for stakeholders.
• Growth & Project Assessment: Proactively develop and implement processes to accommodate the growth of the Factor brand, and assess accounting treatment for new projects and ventures, presenting reports to management as needed.
• Audit & Team Support: Assist with interim and year-end internal and external audit requirements, and mentor intermediate and junior accounting team members, supporting their growth.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting with strong knowledge of IFRS, including technical accounting and reporting requirements, for a senior-level accounting position.
• Experience: 3-4 years of experience working in full-cycle accounting or experience in Public accounting.
• Skills: CPA designation, advanced proficiency in Excel, Gemini Pro, and Claude, strong interpersonal skills (both written and verbal), renowned attention to detail, ability to multitask under pressure, meet deadlines, and proactive problem-solving.
