Associate Accountant | DPR Construction

The Tone:
This is an entry-level role at DPR Construction, a self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects for advanced technology, life sciences, healthcare, higher education, and commercial markets, with offices around the world. As an Associate Accountant, you will perform entry-level accounting duties to support the accuracy and integrity of financial records at the corporate or entity level. This position is vital for maintaining compliance with established policies and internal controls and contributing to the efficiency of daily accounting operations. You will develop professional expertise through exposure to multiple areas of accounting within the company.

• Mission: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of corporate or entity-level financial records through entry-level accounting duties, not supporting project accounting functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: routine journal entries and account reconciliations under guidance to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist: in processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense transactions in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain: organized and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Support: month-end and year-end close activities by compiling data and preparing standard reports.
• Collaborate: with team members to verify financial information and resolve discrepancies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Skills: Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, ability to prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, proficiency in processing financial transactions, strong financial record-keeping and documentation skills, and capability to support financial close processes.
