Junior Accountant (Bilingual English & Spanish) | Submer

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Submer, located in Houston, TX, with a hybrid/on-site work schedule. Submer is an organization that designs and delivers scalable, high-density AI datacenter infrastructure built around industry-leading liquid cooling. This role is crucial for supporting the financial operations, accounting processes, risk management initiatives, and regulatory compliance activities within a growing Data Center Technology organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting & Financial Operations: Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations, while assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Help identify and monitor financial, operational, and compliance risks, supporting internal control reviews and ensuring accounting processes comply with company policies, GAAP, and Spanish accounting rules (PGC).
• Contract & Legal Support: Review vendor agreements, customer contracts, and procurement documentation from a financial perspective, assisting with tracking contractual obligations and maintaining records for legal, tax, and regulatory filings.
• Data Center Business Support: Monitor and reconcile technology infrastructure expenses, including equipment, maintenance, and service contracts, and support capital and operational expenditure tracking along with asset depreciation schedules.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, serving as an accounting professional.
• Experience: 2-3 years of accounting experience, with working knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles, including exposure to risk, contracts, legal documentation, or compliance-related accounting functions.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar), along with excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Bonus: Exposure to technology, telecommunications, cloud services, or data center industries, understanding of contract review, legal documentation, or regulatory compliance, progress toward CPA designation, or experience with SOX controls, risk assessment frameworks, or governance processes.
