Staff Practice Accountant | OneOncology

This Staff Accountant role is an entry-level opportunity to build foundational accounting and analytical skills, directly contributing to the accuracy and timeliness of the organization’s financial results.

• Team: Operational accounting team, supporting a specific functional pod and reporting to the Manager of Practice Accounting.
• Mission: Prepare precise journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, which is critical for the organization’s financial results and reporting.
• Tech Stack: Workday, ERP platforms
What You’ll Actually Do
• Post: Prepare and post accurate journal entries in full accordance with US GAAP.
• Reconcile: Perform comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations and meticulously investigate any identified discrepancies to ensure financial integrity.
• Support Close: Assist with monthly close activities, including consolidations and the diligent preparation of financial statements.
• Review & Analyze: Provide support to the Senior Accountant and Manager in conducting thorough variance analysis and financial reviews.
• Document: Maintain organized and complete supporting documentation for all accounting transactions, ensuring audit readiness and transparency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must possess a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits/credits, accruals, and reconciliations. Foundational knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls is also required.
• Experience: 0-4+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy; strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of Workday or other ERP platforms; active CPA license or actively working toward obtaining a CPA license.
