RN Resident | Wellstar

The Tone:
This is an early career RN Resident position at Wellstar, located in various locations across the United States. Wellstar is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of every person served. This role is crucial for new graduate RNs with less than six months of experience, providing a structured 12-month program to successfully transition into professional practice, develop critical thinking, and strengthen clinical skills to deliver excellent patient care.

• Team: Unit-based, reports to Unit Manager and collaborates with Professional Nurse Educator, Assistant Nurse Manager, and Preceptor.
• Mission: Successfully transition new graduate Registered Nurses into professional practice to provide excellent patient care and enhance the health and well-being of patients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Care: Provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with current Wellstar Standards of Care under direct supervision.
• Professional Practice: Uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics Standards for Nurses.
• Program Completion: Successfully complete the 12-month RN Residency in the unit in which hired, supported by various unit leaders and educators.
• Clinical Process: Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
• Patient-Centered Care: Deliver patient and family-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics, adapting service delivery to reflect cultural diversity and focusing on the patient’s goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing, identifying as an early career professional.
• Experience: Less than six months of experience as a Professional Registered Nurse.
• Skills: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current Registered Nurse (Single State or Multi-state Compact) license, strong analytical and critical thinking abilities for clinical care, and adherence to professional nursing standards.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) preferred.
