JOB MISSION: Product Management Intern, Lifestyle Footwear

As a Product Management Intern for Lifestyle Footwear, you will support the product management team in their execution of the global product plan for the Lifestyle category. You will partner with Design, Development, Regional Merchandising and Marketing to bring best in class Lifestyle Product to market. You will assist in driving and executing our Lifestyle vision of New Balance product through the initiation, design, development and key milestones supporting the intersection of sport and culture.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with research and assessment of market competition and trends, gathering qualitative and quantitative data for product positioning and identifying new category opportunities.
  • Work closely w/ Design and Product Development to drive operational excellence. Ensure product creation efforts and samples are executed well and on time.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the product creation process, products and systems while adhering to the product creation calendar.
  • Prepare reports as required by Product Manager to include sales, distribution, cost, budget, margin and market analysis.
  • Perform data entry into product line management system.
  • Proactively manage the inventory of the Lifestyle category samples.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

  • Working towards a B.A. degree in Merchandising/Marketing or a related field.
  • Experience in retail, merchandising, product management or product marketing within the footwear industry desired.
  • Ability to understand consumers’ needs and mindset as well as a passion for product within the lifestyle category.
  • Knowledgeable about global consumer trends and key brands/retailers/competitors.
  • Ability to work with others as part of a cross-functional team, build consensus, and achieve results across a variety of distinct groups.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills; confident presenting in front of large global audiences.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office suite.

Compensation & Location

This position is located at the Boston, MA Headquarters (NB). The hourly pay rate for this role is $20.00 (actual base pay may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more).

Flexible Work Schedule
