What You’ll Actually Do
• Facility Operations Management: Oversee the complete cycle of daily early morning pool operations, which includes meticulously opening and setting up the Wayzata East Middle School Pools for public use, and efficiently closing and tearing down equipment after sessions conclude.
• Patron Engagement & Welcoming Environment: Greet all patrons with a positive demeanor, actively working to cultivate and maintain a welcoming, friendly, and community-centered atmosphere for everyone utilizing the aquatic facility.
• Lifeguard & Water Safety: Provide diligent lifeguard supervision during all morning swim sessions, consistently monitoring the pool area to ensure the safety and well-being of all swimmers and facility users.
• Safety, Maintenance, and Emergency Response: Proactively monitor the facility for any safety concerns, maintenance needs, or potential hazards. Be fully prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, administering necessary assistance, and accurately documenting all incidents according to established procedures.
• Stakeholder Communication: Ensure seamless operations by maintaining open, clear, and consistent communication with staff members, direct supervisors, and all patrons, addressing questions and providing necessary information to keep activities running smoothly.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age by their start date and possess a current, valid Lifeguard Certification, demonstrating foundational knowledge in aquatic safety and rescue techniques.
• Experience: Requires demonstrated prior experience as a swim instructor, indicating familiarity with pool environments, safety protocols, and engaging with diverse groups of swimmers.
• Skills: The ideal candidate will be a positive, dependable team player with strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, essential for interacting effectively with staff, supervisors, and patrons in a community setting.
