Operations Investment Specialist – Immediate Office of the Administrator | GSA
The Tone:
This is a one-year Pathways Recent Graduate Program position at the General Services Administration (GSA), located in Washington, DC. GSA serves as the federal government’s real estate and procurement agency, and this role contributes to its mission by facilitating technology modernization across other agencies. This position is crucial for enabling the effective use of the Technology Modernization Fund (TMF), helping federal organizations improve their operational efficiency and digital capabilities.

• Mission: This person solves operational problems and supports federal agencies in securing funding from the Technology Modernization Fund (TMF) to advance their modernization initiatives.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Perform studies requiring evaluation and identification of operational problems, evaluate alternative solutions, identify potential actions, and prepare reports or briefings.
• Analyze: Utilize qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to research and gather information and applicable work methods and procedures to meet deadlines.
• Monitor: Assist in monitoring and evaluating assigned programs and initiatives, perform basic tracking and analysis of program data, and prepare reports to support program operations and established goals and objectives.
• Coordinate: Assist higher-graded specialists with meetings, conferences, and other organizational events.
• Draft: Prepare routine written documents and/or Interagency Agreements (IAAs) and support communication of business practices and processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s (or equivalent graduate degree) or completion of 2 years of progressively higher graduate education leading to a Master’s or equivalent degree. Career level: Recent Graduate.
• Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 in the Federal Service, including researching, gathering, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative information to support program or administrative operations; evaluating program or administrative activities and recommending solutions; monitoring program or project activities and preparing reports or briefing materials; coordinating meetings, conferences, or other organizational activities; and preparing correspondence, reports, agreements, or other written documents.
• Skills: Qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques, research and information gathering, program monitoring and evaluation, report and briefing material preparation, event coordination, and written communication for documents and agreements.
