Graduate Leadership Development Program | Peckham Industries, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an early career, rotational leadership development program at Peckham Industries, Inc., requiring travel throughout New York and New England. Peckham Industries operates significant materials businesses, including quarry operations, hot mix asphalt production, and related services, which are critical to infrastructure development in the region. This program is specifically designed to cultivate future leaders who will gain deep operational expertise, uphold the company’s core values of safety and integrity, and drive efficiency within its diverse materials operations. The role is pivotal in building the next generation of management ready to assume key leadership positions within the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety Adherence: Uphold and actively promote Peckham Industries’ safety culture by strictly adhering to all company, OSHA, and MSHA policies, ensuring a safe work environment across all assigned locations.
• Operational Immersion: Participate in structured rotations across diverse materials operations, including quarry operations, plant administration, quality control, environmental compliance, HMA operations, and sales, to develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire business lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance: Support critical quality control activities through meticulous material sampling, rigorous testing, and thorough performance evaluation, ensuring aggregates and hot mix asphalt consistently meet internal standards and customer specifications.
• Production Support: Engage directly in quarry and mining operations by supporting mine planning, crushing and screening activities, and regulatory compliance efforts related to blasting and permitting, alongside hot mix asphalt plant operations, maintenance, and performance monitoring for efficient production.
• Leadership Cultivation: Demonstrate strong leadership potential by effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, applying principles of continuous learning, and completing all required training and mentorship activities to prepare for a future leadership role.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required in Mining, Civil, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering; Construction Management; Business Administration; or a closely related field. Entry-level.
• Experience: No specific years required. Associate’s degree may be considered with strong academic performance and relevant materials, quarry, plant, heavy civil, internship, co-op, or field experience.
• Skills: Excellent listening skills, effective verbal and written communication, strong organizational and time management abilities, problem-solving, adaptability, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.
