Entry Level – Global Operations Center Technician | Epic

The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level role at Epic, located on our campus in Madison, WI. Epic is a software company that builds ideas from around the world into its software to support the delivery of quality care for patients globally. This role is crucial for maintaining business continuity across Epic’s global campuses by proactively monitoring real-time alerts, managing security systems, and overseeing building operations. The Operations Center Technician ensures a safe environment and helps restore normal operations quickly and effectively during disruptions such as natural disasters or power outages, thereby contributing to the company’s global stability.

• Mission: This person solves the problem of maintaining business continuity and ensuring safety across Epic’s global campuses by proactively monitoring systems and coordinating rapid responses to disruptions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Global Operations Management: Help maintain business continuity across Epic’s global campuses by overseeing building operations from the Facilities Command Center.
• Alert Monitoring & Response: Monitor real-time alerts and identify and respond to issues using video feeds and system data.
• Security & Access Control: Manage access and security systems to ensure campus safety and integrity.
• Emergency Coordination: Coordinate emergency responses closely with internal teams and emergency services during disruptions such as natural disasters or power outages.
• Operational Restoration: Ensure a safe environment and help restore normal operations quickly and effectively following incidents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Requires foundational knowledge or interest in security operations, emergency response, or a related high-volume field.
• Experience: No specific years required.
• Skills: Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills; excellent communication and coordination abilities; ability to work in a high-pressure, real-time environment; openness to 2nd and 3rd shift, as well as weekend days; eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship; willingness to relocate to the Madison, WI area; COVID-19 vaccination.
