The Tone:
This is an on-call position at Hutchinson Community College (HutchCC), located in Hutchinson, KS. HutchCC is dedicated to advancing excellence through learning and collaboration within its community. As an On-Call Custodian, you will play a crucial role in supporting this mission by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and visitors. This position is essential for maintaining the overall campus experience and operational readiness of facilities.

The TL;DR
• Role: Part Time
• Type: On-call, As Needed
• Location: In-person, Hutchinson, KS

• Team: Reports to the Director and/or Coordinators of the Facilities department.
• Mission: Keep campus spaces clean, safe, and ready for daily operations and events.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Clean Campus Buildings: Perform comprehensive cleaning of various campus buildings, including dusting, washing windows, floors, walls, and furniture, as well as sanitizing restroom fixtures, toilets, and sinks, using appropriate supplies and equipment.
• Maintain Interior Spaces: Be responsible for maintaining interior areas from ceiling to floor, which includes cleaning light fixtures, replacing light bulbs, cleaning HVAC supply and return vents, and changing HVAC filters depending on their location.
• Collaborate with Staff: Provide assistance to other employees across the campus as needed to support various departmental operations and campus-wide initiatives.
• Support Facilities Operations: Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director and/or Coordinators of the Facilities department to ensure smooth operation of facilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: No specific educational background is required for this role.
• Experience: Previous experience in custodial duties or familiarity with operating a variety of cleaning equipment and manual cleaning tools is beneficial.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in using appropriate custodial supplies and equipment for various cleaning tasks.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in arriving for work and successfully performing job responsibilities.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends as necessary to meet campus needs.
• Ability to comply with all Hutchinson Community College policies, procedures, and practices.
