Nurse Graduate Pipeline Program | Frederick Health
The Tone:
This is a temporary early career role at Frederick Health, located in Frederick, MD. Frederick Health Hospital is dedicated to fostering nursing excellence and supporting new nurses as they transition into the profession. This program provides essential opportunities for new graduates to join the hospital, develop clinical skills, and prepare for future permanent RN positions within the system.
The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career
• Type: Temporary (no longer than 6 months), 12 hr shifts per week (72 hrs/pay period), day/night rotation with alternative weekends
• Location: Frederick, MD (On-site)
• Pay: $36.07–$55.17 hourly
• Team: Reports to Department Manager and Director/Hospital Supervisor; works within the Nursing Resources Department (Float Pool) alongside a Registered Nurse Preceptor.
• Mission: To develop and refine clinical skills and critical thinking in new nursing graduates, preparing them for open RN positions within the organization.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Assessment: Assess biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs of patients using nursing standards.
• Plan Development: Develop and initiate individualized plans of care based on identified patient needs, incorporating all available resources and nursing diagnoses.
• Care Implementation: Execute patient care plans by accurately implementing and documenting nursing interventions and communicating pertinent information to the healthcare team.
• Care Evaluation: Review, evaluate, and document the effectiveness of nursing interventions, equipment, and programs, making necessary modifications to the plan of care.
• Patient Education: Provide comprehensive patient and family education, assessing learning needs, implementing teaching plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of teaching.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate Degree in Nursing required, preparing new nursing graduates for entry into the field.
• Experience: Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or a compact state. Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
• Skills: Clinical competency in their departmental area of practice, effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to use technology and equipment, and demonstrated leadership and accountability qualities.
• Bonus: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred or willingness to obtain within 5 years of employment. Commitment to meeting annual requirements of the FH Clinical Ladder.
