The Tone:
This is an early career role with BASF Agricultural Solutions, involving three rotational assignments across North American sites. • Mission: To develop early career professionals through immersive, cross-functional rotations, providing a comprehensive understanding of BASF’s Seeds & Traits Research – Breeding operations and contributing to sustainable agricultural solutions.
• Tech Stack: statistical analysis, digital tools and data capture, databases

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotational Learning: Complete three unique rotational assignments in greenhouse, field, laboratory, and office environments, contributing to strategic projects and daily operations within Seeds & Traits Research.
• Expertise Development: Build scientific and technical expertise across breeding and genetics, trait biology and development, seed operations, field operations and agronomy, statistical analysis, and digital tools.
• Innovation Support: Contribute to innovative seed, trait, and technology concepts by supporting competitive breeding programs and applying current scientific knowledge, tools, and approaches.
• Project Evaluation: Evaluate experimental approaches, analyze results, and contribute to breeding project plans under the guidance of experienced team members and managers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, use resources effectively, and develop solutions that support the agricultural industry.

The Must-Haves
• Background: PhD degree in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Crop Science, or a related field, completed within 12 months of hire (graduating between December 2026-May 2027). Entry-Level.
• Experience: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without restrictions or need for future sponsorship. Experience in using databases for data management and analysis.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
