Marketing Coordinator Intern (Volunteer, Remote) | Duet

The Tone:
This is an internship at Duet, located remotely. Duet is an online philanthropic platform that empowers donors to provide dignified and efficient aid to vulnerable families. The company supports refugee families in Greece and is expanding for COVID-19 relief in LA, operating as a 501(c)-3 registered charity. This role is crucial for leading growth on external social media and communication, expanding Duet’s reach, messaging, and brand recognition as a brand operative committed to social good.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Volunteer, Part-time (8-12 hours per week)
• Location: Remote

• Team: Collaborates with the Chief Marketing Officer, Graphic Design Intern, Social Media Lead, and Executive Assistant.
• Mission: Expands Duet’s reach, messaging, and brand recognition to bring more awareness to the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Campaign Strategy: Brainstorm month-to-month marketing campaigns using knowledge of global holidays, media trends, and current events.
• User Acquisition: Develop new ways to explain Duet to new users and aid in tracking where new users are acquired.
• Email Communication: Assist in creating, managing, and crafting email campaigns and mass communication.
• Publicity & PR: Plan publicity strategies and write press releases to expand brand awareness.
• Content Development: Produce video materials or collaborate with team members for content creation.

• Background: Interest in social good and contributing to an agile nonprofit organization.
• Experience: Proven track record of creativity and sustained effort, along with familiarity with current and emerging media platforms.
• Skills: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong creative thinking, and a demonstrated capacity for initiative, ownership, and organization.
• Bonus: Excited to engage in conversations with philanthropically-minded individuals, regularly keeps up with social media trends, and enjoys crafting a brand identity.
