Assoc. Director, Field Operations (Veeva CRM) | Neurocrine Biosciences
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neurocrine Biosciences, located in San Diego, California, USA. Neurocrine Biosciences discovers, develops, and commercializes life-changing treatments for neurological, psychiatric, endocrine, and immunological disorders. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Veeva/VeevaVault applications, enhancing field team productivity, effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic CRM Ownership: Serve as the business owner for Neurocrine’s CRM platform and Veeva/VeevaVault applications, leading the development of Veeva CRM Policies for all relevant field teams and other user groups.
• System Implementation & Management: Oversee the tactical implementation of all aspects of Veeva Vault CRM modules, such as Veeva Events and Account Management, including product sampling and other Veeva CRM initiatives through direct reports.
• Veeva Architecture & Data Integrity: Lead all aspects of Veeva architecture and design, ensuring data cleanliness and integrity, process building, testing, and deploying new processes in partnership with the Data Management team.
• Process Optimization & Reporting: Lead process improvement initiatives related to CRM functionality, customer data, and reporting, including the implementation of Veeva’s Next Best Action. Identify and manage change requests, dashboards, and analytics on activity level data.
• Cross-functional Collaboration & Vendor Oversight: Partner closely with various departments including Field Sales, Marketing, IT, and speaker program vendors. Establish and nurture relationships with key vendors, while overseeing user security, licenses, and communicating system changes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or a Master’s Degree/MBA. Must have previous managerial/functional management experience.
• Experience: 12+ years of sales operations experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry (or 8+ years with a Master’s degree), with a significant portion in sales incentive compensation. Proven experience working within a commercial/sales environment in Pharma/Biotech and leading teams or having direct reports. Demonstrated experience in identifying and executing business process improvements, managing multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines, and leading projects with multiple departments and stakeholders.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid process orientation, strong familiarity with database architecture and backend of commercial systems, extensive knowledge of Veeva/Salesforce.com and related systems like Veeva Vault, and advanced computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Bonus: Strong budget management skills, proven ability to apply basic consulting skills, and experience managing vendors of biopharma commercial systems.
