Assistant Store Manager Trainee | Hannaford Supermarkets

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee: Manage the overall operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Support: Assist with store operations and management duties to meet financial and sales goals.
• Cultivate: Build strong associate and customer relations, promoting a positive culture aligned with Hannaford Strategy.
• Develop: Manage, hire, train, and develop assigned staff, while ensuring effective work schedules.
• Ensure: Maintain compliance with company security, safety, and food safety standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College degree or relevant retail management work experience, coupled with a strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams; willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements; capability to solve problems using technical information. Must be or become a Certified Food Safety Manager within 90 days of employment.
• Skills: Effective interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Bonus: Experience managing performance through planning, coaching, and appraisals; ability to assist in attaining financial objectives including sales, payroll, gross margin, and shrink control; understanding of company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, and ordering systems.
