The Tone:
This is a part-time, seasonal role at Six Flags, a leading entertainment company known for its thrilling theme parks and water attractions. As a Lifeguard on the Hurricane Harbor Aquatics Team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests. Your core responsibility involves the safe and efficient operation of attractions, primarily focused on preventing aquatic emergencies. By effectively utilizing professional lifeguard skills, you will provide a secure and fun environment for every visitor.

• Mission: Ensure the safety and enjoyment of guests by preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Supervise Guests: Maintain constant vigilance and supervision of Guests within the Hurricane Harbor Waterpark, ensuring their safety.
• Respond to Emergencies: Recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies by utilizing skills taught by the Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP).
• Maintain Proficiency: Attend 4 hours of In-Service training each month and maintain a “Test-Ready” skill level at all times after certification.
• Enforce Policies: Consistently adhere to all Six Flags and ILTP policies, practices, and procedures, clearly communicating safety guidelines to Guests.
• Support Operations: Assist in other areas of the Aquatics Department as needed and perform additional duties deemed necessary by management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum age of 15 years old.
• Experience: Must be able to successfully pass all applicable lifeguard training and licensing through Jeff Ellis & Associates, including practical and written tests, demonstrating abilities in water rescue techniques, basic first aid, and CPR.
• Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members, capacity to remain calm in stressful and emergency situations, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to exit from a pool/attraction at any point without the use of ladders, steps, or a zero depth exit.
• Bonus: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, professional demeanor, self-motivation, ability to multi-task, and an enthusiastic attitude.
