The Tone:
This is a summer internship at TikTok, located in a company office, potentially in Los Angeles or other US locations. TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, with a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy through its innovative product and global teams. This role goes beyond typical operational support, encouraging the intern to bring fresh perspectives, challenge current processes, and explore how automation and AI can improve HR operations. It offers the chance to build strong foundations in HR operations while gaining industry exposure and hands-on experience in a global environment.

• Mission: Enhance HR operations through direct support, process improvement, automation, and data analysis to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and a positive employee experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• HR Operations Management: Support end-to-end HR operations, including timekeeping, payroll processes, time off and leave management, employment compliance (I-9 workflows), and employee helpdesk support.
• Process Optimization: Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, then proactively propose and implement improvements to existing workflows.
• Quality Assurance: Deliver high-quality operational outcomes with strong attention to accuracy, timeliness, and overall employee experience.
• AI & Automation Integration: Drive and support initiatives for automation and AI-driven enhancements, including process optimization, workflow redesign, and contribution to internal AI pilots.
• Data-Driven Insights: Analyze operational data to generate meaningful insights for data-driven decision-making and build comprehensive documentation to enable standardization and scalability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Operations, Data, or a related field.
• Experience: Student-level, no specific prior professional experience required.
• Skills: Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, strong sense of ownership, curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset.
