Growth Marketing Intern — Community & Stakeholder Growth (Remote, Unpaid)
About Lillup
At Lillup, we build AI-native products that help individuals and organizations capture, structure, and activate knowledge at scale. We operate with agility, committed to rapid iteration in real-world conditions, and hold a deep reverence for craft—be it in product development, engineering, or storytelling. Joining Lillup as an intern means stepping into a high-ownership environment where your contributions will directly shape our growth engine and market presence.
Role Description
This is a remote internship opportunity for a Growth Marketing Intern — Community & Stakeholder Growth. You will collaborate closely with leadership, product, and engineering teams to define and execute Lillup’s overarching growth strategy, grounded in a community-first approach. Your core mission will be to build a robust network of stakeholders—including ambassadors, influencers, partners, and domain experts—and transform this vibrant ecosystem into a repeatable acquisition and activation engine.
This pivotal role demands a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, encompassing:
- Market intelligence
- Positioning
- Content systems development
- Outreach initiatives
- Partnerships
- Growth experimentation
- Analytics and reporting
Key Responsibilities
1) Market & Audience Intelligence:
- Map target segments (buyers, users, advocates) by geographical region/time zone and maturity level (from early adopters to mainstream).
- Identify key communities where our target audience naturally gathers (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Discord/Reddit niches, newsletters, events, schools, associations).
- Extract critical pain points and jobs-to-be-done, translating these insights into compelling messaging angles and testable campaign hypotheses.
2) Category Narrative & Messaging System:
- Build a scalable storytelling system, defining content pillars, formats, reusable templates, and consistent voice & tone rules.
- Produce clear, proof-driven messaging that performs effectively across diverse channels and resonates with various stakeholders.
3) Community & Stakeholder Engine (Ambassadors, Influencers, Partners):
- Build and manage a pipeline of stakeholders: including ambassadors, creators/influencers, community leaders, educational institutions, associations, and strategic partners.
- Run diverse collaboration formats: such as AMAs (Ask Me Anything), guest posts, co-written guides, short demo videos, interviews, webinars, and community events.
- Maintain a simple stakeholder CRM (e.g., Notion/Airtable) to track relationship stages, apply relevant tagging, and define clear next actions.
4) Content & Distribution Execution:
- Ship content designed specifically for distribution and conversion, moving beyond mere “posting.”
- Support channel execution on priority platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter, newsletters, dedicated communities).
- Help plan and execute lightweight SEO and landing-page briefs, focusing on intent mapping, positioning, and high-conversion copy.
5) Growth Experiments & Funnel Optimization:
- Run weekly growth loops: consistently following the cycle of hypothesis → build → launch → measure → iterate.
- Improve conversion rates across the entire funnel: from landing pages and waitlist/sign-up flows to onboarding sequences.
- Partner with engineering to implement robust tracking (events, UTMs) and ensure proper instrumentation for all experiments.
6) Analytics & Reporting:
- Track performance diligently and report insights clearly (identifying what worked, what didn’t, and what to test next).
- Maintain lightweight dashboards to monitor key metrics such as acquisition, activation, retention, referral performance, and the volume of content collaborations shipped.
Community-First Principles (Non-Negotiables)
- Stakeholders before audience: Prioritize building relationships with credible third parties (ambassadors, influencers, partners) before focusing on scaling broad reach.
- Value exchange only: Every collaboration must offer a clear reciprocal “give/get” (e.g., education, visibility, access, co-creation, attribution, referral value).
- Trust > vanity metrics: Optimize for qualified conversations, genuine referrals, and consistent repeat engagement—not superficial likes or follower counts.
- Proof-driven storytelling: Stakeholder content must be anchored in real artifacts, such as product demos, performance benchmarks, validated product learnings, and concrete use-cases.
- Community safety: Absolutely no spam, no scraping, and no deceptive tactics. Respect platform rules, user privacy, informed consent, and full disclosure at all times.
Ambassador Program Mechanics (Simple, Structured)
- Tiers: A clear progression from Explorer → Builder → Captain (based on tangible contribution, not follower count).
- Contribution Menu: A defined list of ways ambassadors can contribute, such as: providing product feedback, sharing a use-case, inviting peers, recording a 60-second demo, hosting a micro-event, or writing a short review.
- Cadence: Regular engagement with a monthly community call and weekly async updates (including highlights, roadmap snippets, and specific asks).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
We will track the following metrics on a weekly basis:
- New stakeholder contacts added / qualified
- Active ambassadors (those who have contributed at least once in the last 30 days)
- Referral traffic + sign-ups attributed by stakeholder (via rigorous UTM discipline)
- Activation rate of referred users
- Number of collaborations shipped (maintaining a weekly cadence)
- Community retention (repeat contributions per month)
Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills: Ability to produce structured, clear, and persuasive content.
- Comfortable with data: Capable of interpreting metrics, identifying patterns, and making evidence-based arguments.
- Familiarity with growth fundamentals: Understanding of funnels, conversion optimization, retention strategies, and cohort analysis.
- Proficiency with common tools: Experience with platforms such as Notion/Airtable, basic analytics tools, landing page builders, and email workflow systems.
- Ability to work independently: Demonstrated ownership, reliability, and a strong documentation mindset in a remote environment.
- Interest in AI products and technical storytelling: Familiarity with developer/creator ecosystems is a significant plus.
Desired Skills & Mindset
What we will specifically look for in your approach:
- Execution Velocity: Your ability to ship weekly (e.g., pages, briefs, posts, outreach, experiments).
- Narrative Discipline: Your capacity to maintain consistent positioning across all channels and stakeholders.
- Experiment Mindset: Your eagerness to propose tests, define clear success metrics, and iterate rapidly.
- Distribution Awareness: Your understanding that “content” encompasses creation + packaging + strategic distribution.
- Operational Rigor: Your attention to detail in areas like UTMs, naming conventions, reporting cadence, and stakeholder tracking.
What We Offer
- High-ownership work with a direct and measurable impact on Lillup’s growth engine.
- Hands-on experience in building a community-led growth strategy from the ground up to repeatable loops.
- Exposure to a technical product and close collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Flexible remote setup and mentorship on modern growth systems and best practices.
Important Notes
- This is an unpaid internship, specifically designed to provide practical learning and valuable real-world exposure.
- There is no guarantee of employment at the conclusion of the internship period.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit the following:
- A detailed resume outlining your relevant experience.
- A compelling cover letter explaining your interest in growth marketing, community building, and AI products—and specifically how your skills align with Lillup’s mission.
- A portfolio/links showcasing your work (e.g., GitHub, writing samples, Notion case studies, examples of landing pages, dashboards, or campaign outcomes).
Optional (Highly Valued): A 1-page “Community Growth Plan” including:
- Your proposed target stakeholder map (ambassadors, influencers, partners).
- 3 collaboration formats you would launch first.
- 3 growth experiments with clearly defined success metrics (focused on activation + referral, not just sign-ups).
