Fundraising & Event Intern | Susan G. Komen
The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at Susan G. Komen, located remotely. Susan G. Komen is the sole organization addressing breast cancer through research, community health, and public policy initiatives to create the most significant impact against this disease. This role offers students direct nonprofit experience in a remote setting, providing academic education and professional job preparation while supporting vital fundraising and event efforts under direct supervision.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute: Support the Fundraising and Business Development team’s ongoing initiatives and projects.
• Assist: Aid in the planning, coordination, and execution of various events for the organization.
• Engage: Undertake hands-on projects designed to build professional skills and contribute to the nonprofit’s mission.
• Collaborate: Work closely with supervisors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within your assigned area of interest.
• Explore: Gain exposure to various departments within the nonprofit sector, such as Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and Community Engagement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, actively enrolled in a 4-year or graduate degree program where an internship is a mandatory component for graduation.
• Experience: Ability to complete a minimum of 120 hours per semester (or university equivalent) between January and May, with availability for at least two four-hour blocks or three three-hour blocks during the business week (Monday-Friday, 7 am – 6 pm CDT).
• Skills: Authorized to perform duties in the U.S. and possess reliable internet access for a 100% remote work environment.
• Bonus: A minimum G.P.A of 3.0, enrollment in a class to receive academic credit, and an interest in Social Services, Volunteer Management, Nonprofit Leadership, or Hospitality & Event Planning and/or Logistics.
