Leadership Resident | Traders Point Christian Church

The Tone:
This is a full-time, 11-month residency experience that is in-person. Traders Point Christian Church defines its culture by gospel-centered values: humble, hungry, and healthy, expecting staff to embody these principles daily while actively contributing to the church’s mission. This role is crucial for developing future ministry leaders, offering a structured environment to gain spiritual and practical experience in leadership, clarify vocational calling, and participate in comprehensive discipleship and training.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person

• Team: Reports to an assigned ministry mentor, with additional oversight from the NextGen Leadership Development Pastor.
• Mission: Develop spiritually and practically in ministry leadership through hands-on experience and training, gaining clarity in calling.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Participate in weekly discipleship and leadership training, engage with assigned readings, and undertake stretch assignments to foster growth.
• Engage: Contribute as a full team member within a specific department or campus ministry, building healthy relationships with staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate: Coordinate with resident cohort peers and across various ministry areas on all-church initiatives and multi-site opportunities like Serve Days, Easter, and Christmas.
• Support: Manage and complete assigned projects to support ministry operations and execution within the resident’s placement area.
• Model: Embody Christlike character and the church’s core values—humble, hungry, and healthy—in all settings and interactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A growing disciple of Jesus with a desire for spiritual maturity and leadership development. Actively involved in the life of a local church. Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed, or equivalent years of general work experience.
• Experience: No specific years of prior experience required for this developmental role.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capacity to receive coaching and feedback with humility and adaptability, and basic organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Excellent speaking and presentation skills, and the ability to navigate difficult conversations with grace and humility. Prior leadership involvement in a church, campus ministry, or related setting is preferred.
