Public Health Intern/Volunteer, Volunteer Recruiter | Conversations to Remember

The Tone:
This is a volunteer/internship position at Conversations to Remember, located remotely in the USA. Conversations to Remember is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to combating loneliness and isolation among seniors through virtual visits. This role is crucial in expanding our outreach to find new volunteers who can make a significant difference in the lives of isolated seniors by providing companionship and emotional support. Your efforts will directly contribute to brightening lives and enriching communities through meaningful connections.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Identify: Conduct research and analysis to identify suitable student organizations, faculty members, and community engagement offices for volunteer outreach efforts.
• Outreach: Craft personalized outreach messages, following up and responding to all questions from potential partners to introduce Conversations to Remember and its mission.
• Track: Manage and track contacts for follow-up, diligently recording information and monitoring key metrics related to outreach activities.
• Engage: Schedule and conduct virtual meetings to engage with interested parties, effectively addressing their questions and providing further information.
• Collaborate: Contribute to the team’s ongoing development of new outreach strategies, assisting in monitoring success and providing feedback to enhance future initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Demonstrated interest in community outreach and supporting seniors through non-profit work.
• Experience: No prior experience is required, as all necessary training will be provided. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and commit to at least 10 hours per week for a minimum of 16 weeks.
• Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills for crafting messages and engaging with partners. Strong organizational abilities for tracking contacts and managing follow-ups. Basic analytical skills to assist in monitoring and improving outreach efforts.
