Facilities Intern | Fenwick & West
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Fenwick & West, located in Silicon Valley, CA. Fenwick & West operates within a professional services environment, serving a diverse client base. This role offers crucial exposure to the day-to-day operations of a Facilities Department, ensuring the smooth functioning of office spaces and supporting key events. The Facilities Intern plays a vital role in maintaining a professional and efficient environment for staff, attorneys, and visitors.

• Pay: $21–$25 hourly
• Team: Reports to the Catering & Events Supervisor
• Mission: Support the Facilities Department by ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of office spaces and event logistics.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare and maintain spaces: Assist with preparing and maintaining conference rooms, kitchens, and multi-purpose spaces for various meetings and events.
• Support catering logistics: Help with catering logistics, including setting up food and refreshments, reconciling deliveries, and inspecting items for quality.
• Manage supplies and equipment: Stock and monitor supplies, perform routine sweeps of facilities spaces, and support the upkeep of beverage equipment and snack stations.
• Maintain cleanliness: Ensure cleanliness in kitchens and conference areas, contributing to a professional and organized office environment.
• Provide administrative and event support: Assist with inventory, place supply orders, coordinate signage, and provide backup support for reception and Facilities services such as copy/scan/mail functions, as well as general event support.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a college degree program, pursuing an entry-level opportunity within a professional services environment.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required, but familiarity with Microsoft Office is expected.
• Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, customer-service oriented, ability to work well in a team, able to follow procedures and manage multiple tasks, professional, detail-oriented, and effective in interacting with staff, attorneys, and vendors.
• Bonus: Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including potential overtime, early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends, as needed, to ensure adequate department coverage.
