The Tone:
This is an internship at Woke Chicago, located in Chicago, IL. Woke Chicago is a trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness nonprofit, dedicated to serving youth and communities across Chicago through movement, emotional wellness, mindfulness, and healing-centered programming. This vital role supports the operational and event coordination systems that ensure our programs and community experiences run smoothly, helping to strengthen our overall nonprofit infrastructure. The intern’s contributions are essential for maintaining organization, efficiency, and a positive experience for all participants and volunteers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordinate and manage logistics for various community events, ensuring seamless execution and positive participant experiences.
• Manage volunteer communications, tracking engagement, and providing support for event staffing needs.
• Provide dedicated operational and administrative support for key programs, including the Yoga Sundays summer event series.
• Organize and streamline backend systems, operational workflows, spreadsheets, and contact databases to enhance organizational efficiency.
• Assist with scheduling, general administrative tasks, Eventbrite setup, and broader communications to strengthen nonprofit systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College student, recent graduate, or emerging professional interested in nonprofit leadership, wellness programming, operations, events, and community engagement.
• Experience: No prior specific years of experience required; seeking meaningful real-world experience in nonprofit and community-centered work.
• Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative and communicative, dependable and proactive, interest in wellness, nonprofit work, or social impact.
• Bonus: Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Eventbrite, Notion, or Wix; strong spreadsheet organization skills; prior volunteer coordination or event support experience.
