Associate Director, Master Production Planner | Gilead Sciences

What You’ll Actually Do
• Global-to-Site Planning Integration: Translate global demand signals, inventory policies, and supply network strategies into feasible, detailed site-level production schedules, leading alignment between Global Network Planning and Site Planning teams.
• Master Production Scheduling (MPS) Leadership: Own and govern the 24-month master production schedule for drug substance, drug product, and finished goods across internal and external manufacturing nodes, building batch sequences, production cycles, and capacity allocations.
• Planning Outside the 4-Month Time Fence: Own the 6–24-month unconstrained planning horizon by translating global strategies into forward-looking production plans, conducting advanced long-range capacity modeling, and running structured scenario analyses.
• Planning Time Fence Governance: Maintain governance for all plan changes within the 4-month frozen window, ensuring major planning decisions are resolved proactively and minimizing late changes to protect execution stability.
• Network Coordination: Serve as the central planning interface to both internal manufacturing sites and the Global External Manufacturing (GEM) organization, ensuring alignment, synchronized production calendars, and long-range visibility for key stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field. This role focuses on master production planning leadership within a global supply chain.
• Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 8+ years with a Master’s, 5+ years with a PhD) in supply chain planning, with strong exposure to network and site planning, and a deep understanding of GMP operations, internal and external manufacturing.
• Skills: Proficiency with ERP and advanced planning systems (SAP, IBP, OMP, Kinaxis); strong influencing skills across global, matrixed organizations; highly analytical with advanced scenario planning capability.
• Bonus: APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or an MBA; experience with commercial biologics or sterile injectables; experience with S&OP/S&OE processes and supply governance frameworks.
