Analyst, Technical Infrastructure Assets | Google
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Google, located US-based. Google’s Finance organization serves as a key partner and advisor, providing in-depth analysis crucial for strategic decisions across all Google products. This specific role focuses on the core accounting responsibilities related to technical infrastructure assets. It is vital for ensuring accurate financial reporting and driving business objectives by managing complex data and end-to-end accounting processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for technical infrastructure reporting, tracking machine deployments, depreciation, useful life, and fleet utilization.
• Performance Analysis: Deliver monthly and quarterly variance commentary, partnering with FP&A and operational teams to evaluate business drivers and performance trends.
• Scenario Modeling: Design and run scenario models to support long-range planning, capital allocation, and executive-level decision-making.
• Tool Oversight: Oversee the suite of advanced modeling tools, managing feature roadmaps and bug fixes to ensure end-to-end data completeness and accuracy.
• Automation Collaboration: Collaborate closely with FinEng and FP&A to align modeling assumptions, integrate data pipelines, and develop scalable, automated reporting solutions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience gained through relevant work in the field.
• Experience: At least 4 years of experience in accounting or a closely related financial function, or a minimum of 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. Required experience includes proficiency with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Skills: Demonstrated excellent analytical skills. Ability to communicate complex finance information in a clear and concise manner.
• Bonus: Prior experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting. Familiarity with coding languages such as SQL or Python. Ability and interest to work with a variety of data integration technologies. Impeccable business judgment combined with the ability to effectively communicate and influence senior management.
