This is a part-time internship at BMW Group, located in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Document Preparation: Engage in the hands-on preparation of diverse tax paperwork, which includes gathering necessary financial data, organizing documentation, and supporting the team in compiling reports crucial for compliance.
• Income Tax Return Review: Conduct thorough reviews of Federal and state income tax returns. This involves examining financial statements, verifying calculations, and ensuring adherence to current tax laws and regulations.
• Consulting Firm Engagement: Actively participate in various meetings with outside consulting firms. These sessions provide a unique opportunity to observe strategic discussions and understand collaborative efforts between internal tax teams and external experts.
• Corporate Tax Operations Insight: Develop a foundational understanding of how a large corporate Tax Department functions within a global business environment, gaining insights into departmental processes and responsibilities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Accounting for the duration of the internship program. Candidates must have completed a minimum of 60 college credit hours at the time of application and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. US Work Authorization is a mandatory requirement for this role.
• Experience: This internship does not require prior professional experience, focusing instead on foundational academic progress in Accounting.
• Skills: Proficiency in business fluent English is essential for clear communication within the team and with external partners, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required for data analysis and reporting.
