Intern, Accounting Operations | Nassau Financial Group
The Tone:
This is a 10-week, summer 2027 internship program at Nassau Financial Group, located in Albany, NY. Nassau is a financial services company building an integrated platform across insurance and asset management, currently managing $1.6 billion in total adjusted capital and $24.8 billion in assets under management. This role is crucial for preparing college students for careers in the insurance and asset management industry by providing valuable hands-on work experience and allowing Nassau to connect with future talent.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Initiative Support: Supports finance initiatives and sees objectives through to completion.
• Data Recording & Analysis: Records journal entries, analyzes data, and runs queries within the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Expense Management system, administration systems, and related databases.
• Account Reconciliation: Prepares account reconciliations and certifies the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
• Reporting Preparation: Assists in preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT financial reporting and analysis.
• Process Improvement: Assesses departmental processes and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Experience: Proficiency in various applications/software including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Peoplesoft, and MS Office.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong technology skills, detail-oriented, and ability to identify and elevate potential accounting, reporting, or reconciliation issues.
• Bonus: Knowledge of insurance and financial markets.
