This is an early career opportunity for a Tax Associate at CohnReznick, located in Bethesda, MD, starting in Fall 2027. • Pay: $81000 yearly
• Team: Works closely with other Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners on engagement teams, serving clients across diverse industries such as Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services.
• Mission: Become familiar with current tax theories and laws while performing procedures in accordance with firm standards, ensuring accurate, thorough, and timely client deliverables.
• Tech Stack: Excel, PowerPoint, and a willingness to learn new technologies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Preparation: Prepare a variety of client deliverables, specifically focusing on tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, and Corporate entities.
• Issue Identification: Identify potential tax issues within client financial data and prepare necessary tax adjusting entries and comprehensive tax trial balances based on either audited or client-provided trial balances.
• Research: Conduct thorough research into various tax issues and filing requirements by utilizing authoritative sources such as the internal revenue code, treasury regulations, and other relevant guidance.
• Project Management: Effectively manage daily client workflows and oversee multiple client projects concurrently, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Documentation: Draft detailed tax technical memorandums to document research, conclusions, and recommendations for complex tax matters.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, with a plan to complete 150 credit hours by September 2027 in order to be CPA licensed.
• Experience: Prior work or internship experience, with accounting experience being a plus.
• Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and sharp critical thinking abilities; comfortable navigating and adapting to evolving environments; advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with an eagerness to learn new technologies; and legal authorization to work in the U.S. (citizen or permanent resident).
• Bonus: Minimum GPA of 3.2 in both your major and overall, and leadership positions in extracurricular activities are preferred.
