Manager in Training | PLS Logistics Services

The Tone:
This is an early career program at PLS Logistics Services, located in St. Louis, MO. The company is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider. This Manager in Training (MIT) program is a 4-month rotational experience designed to develop the next generation of logistics leaders. The role is crucial for gaining hands-on experience across all core functions of the business, preparing individuals to take on leadership positions within a growing industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales: Learn to build a book of business, negotiate pricing, and close deals in freight brokerage.
• Operations: Dive into carrier management, shipment coverage, and service resolution.
• Corporate Functions: Gain exposure to key business areas including marketing, finance, human resources, and national accounts.
• Client Management: Build relationships with shippers and carriers, addressing and resolving real client service issues.
• Department Rotation: Master various departments to understand the foundational workings of a growing third-party logistics company.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree (or nearing completion) in a related field. Entry-Level.
• Experience: 0–2 years of sales or related experience, alongside demonstrated leadership experience through academics, athletics, or extracurricular involvement.
• Skills: Confidence in networking and public speaking, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the drive to excel.
• Bonus: Strong campus or community involvement, and a willingness to relocate to a PLS branch location after successful program completion.
