Operation Trainee Skillbridge Program | Bunge

The Tone:
This is a full-time training program at Bunge, located in Destrehan, Louisiana, as part of the DOD SkillBridge partnership. Bunge connects farmers to consumers to deliver essential food, feed, and fuel to the world, operating as a premier agribusiness solutions provider in grain origination, storage, distribution, oilseed processing, and refining. This role offers military service members a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a foundational understanding of Bunge’s operational processes, preparing them for potential full-time leadership, engineering, maintenance, or other operational roles within the company.

• Mission: To provide hands-on training and operational knowledge to DOD SkillBridge participants, fostering development for future full-time roles within Bunge.
• Tech Stack: Proficiency in standard PC applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety Leadership: Learn, understand, and demonstrate safe work habits to train, develop, and lead Bunge’s safety culture.
• Operational Participation: Participate fully in the day-to-day physical operation of a Bunge facility to understand fundamental operations and processes.
• Process Understanding: Develop a thorough understanding of operational processes, demonstrating comprehension through responses to inquiries from supervisors, mentors, or the program manager.
• Performance Analysis: Assist in evaluating changing operational conditions, communicating findings to appropriate personnel, and helping the facility prioritize and optimize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Project Support: Support plant management with various projects, including drawing reviews, equipment specifications, operational narrative preparations, employee training, and commissioning a start-up, while also supporting regional continuous improvement efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidate must be approved to participate in the DOD SkillBridge program.
• Experience: Participation in a structured training program focused on operational learning and development.
• Skills: Collaborative team player, ability to manage multiple and shifting work priorities, exceptional verbal, written, and listening communication skills, strong organizational and self-directed abilities, mechanical and analytical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or vocational degree is a plus, along with a willingness to relocate for future growth opportunities.
