Area Manager 2026 – Michigan & Illinois (Recent and Upcoming Graduates) | Amazon
The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level position at Amazon, located within one of its operations buildings across Michigan and Illinois. Amazon is a large organization focused on customer satisfaction and efficient supply chain operations. This role is central to managing the day-to-day operations by leading a team of hourly employees in a warehouse environment. As an Area Manager, you will be instrumental in developing people leaders, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, attendance, and performance within the Amazon network.

• Mission: Engage, lead, and develop a team of hourly employees to meet operational goals, while maintaining safety, quality, attendance, and performance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Support, mentor, and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates in a warehouse environment.
• Manage: Motivate, mentor, and manage your team to achieve operational goals and uphold performance standards.
• Develop: Ensure your team has the necessary tools to succeed and maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance at work.
• Operate: Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using equipment like pallet jacks, and operate PIT equipment as needed.
• Work: Operate independently and autonomously within a warehouse setting, adapting to shifts up to 12 hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position requiring a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Experience: All degree requirements completed between May 2024 and August 2026, with all requirements met before your first day.
• Bonus: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering, or a related field.
