Manager in Training – Cranberry | PLS Logistics Services

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at PLS Logistics Services, located in Cranberry Township, PA. PLS Logistics Services is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider, operating in a high-growth environment. This Manager in Training (MIT) program is designed to develop the next generation of logistics leaders, providing hands-on experience across core business functions to fast-track a meaningful leadership career within the company.

The TL;DR

• Mission: This role trains individuals to master freight brokerage, understand logistics and supply chain fundamentals, and prepare to lead within a growing 3PL organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales Training: Learn how to build a book of business, negotiate pricing, and close deals in freight brokerage during months one and two of the program.
• Operations Training: Dive into carrier management, shipment coverage, and service resolution during the third month of the program.
• Corporate Rotations: Gain exposure to key business functions including marketing, finance, human resources, and national accounts in the final month.
• Client Service: Tackle real client service issues and see them through to resolution, building essential problem-solving skills.
• Relationship Building: Develop and strengthen relationships with both shippers and carriers as a core part of daily activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree (or nearing completion) in a related field, demonstrating a natural aptitude for leadership.
• Experience: 0–2 years of sales or related experience, coupled with demonstrated leadership experience through academics, athletics, or extracurricular involvement.
• Skills: Confidence in networking, public speaking, client management, negotiation, and problem-solving to effectively navigate logistics challenges.
• Bonus: A scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset with the hustle to match, alongside a willingness to relocate to a PLS branch after program completion.
