The Tone:

This role is crucial for learning all facets of grocery store operations and preparing individuals for the responsibilities of a Store Manager.

• Mission: This person solves the problem of ensuring effective store operations, customer service, and team leadership to achieve profitability and prepare for a Store Manager role.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training & Development: Actively engage in comprehensive training programs to master all store departments and operational functions.
• Leadership & Team Building: Assist in supervising store personnel, fostering teamwork, and developing associates through coaching.
• Customer Experience: Deliver and promote exceptional customer service, promptly resolving any customer concerns.
• Operational Excellence: Learn and execute daily store operations, including scheduling, cash handling, and productivity management.
• Merchandising & Inventory: Support effective product ordering, merchandising, and inventory control to optimize stock levels and sales.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager in Training. High School Diploma or GED required, with foundational knowledge in retail operations and customer service principles.
• Experience: Previous grocery, retail, customer service, or supervisory experience is preferred, alongside demonstrated leadership potential.
• Skills: Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; Effective communication and leadership potential; Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; Basic math and computer skills.
• Bonus: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field; Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems; Willingness to travel as required for training.
