Critical Operations Associate | QTS Data Centers

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at QTS Data Centers. QTS Data Centers builds and operates world-class digital infrastructure, including advanced data centers that support the increasing demands of AI and cloud technologies. This role is essential for monitoring and maintaining the critical operational systems that keep these global data centers running smoothly, ensuring reliability and performance for customers. You will contribute to QTS’s mission of connecting the globe for good through your direct involvement in data center operations.

• Mission: This role ensures the continuous, safe, and compliant operation of data center building systems by monitoring performance, conducting routine assessments, and providing direct support to customers and senior technicians.
• Tech Stack: MS Office Suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitoring Operations: Monitor critical and non-critical system equipment and components to ensure safe and compliant operation.
• System Maintenance: Assist with preventive and/or corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Facility Assessment: Perform routine tours of the facility to ensure all equipment is operating as designed.
• Ticket Management: Create and/or update tickets within the established ticketing system to address customer calls, data center facility, network, and/or system-related alerts.
• Customer Support: Assist customers on the Data Center floor both in person and via the telephone, including assisting with customer equipment installs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High school diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: One or more years of technical training, military training, or equivalent professional work experience.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Office Suite; customer focus with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to function in a team environment; ability to analyze system operations, determine problem causes, and take corrective action.
• Bonus: Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and/or network infrastructure concepts and theory; one or more years of work experience in a mission-critical or similar environment.
