Business Manager (C-Store) | Acosta

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Acosta, located within a defined marketing area with required local travel. Acosta is a sales and marketing agency that partners with manufacturers (principals) to increase sales and market share for their brands in the C-Store channel. This role is pivotal in driving the company’s success by achieving key business objectives and fostering strong relationships with customers, ensuring the growth and profitability of represented brands.

• Pay: $79860–$85000 yearly
• Team: Reports directly to the General Manager or Team Leader
• Mission: Increase sales and market share of represented brands while earning a profit for manufacturers and Acosta.
• Tech Stack: Client proprietary system, various software packages used to support the sales function

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales & Revenue Generation: Achieve principals’ volume, market share, and sales fundamental goals, including merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving, to maximize company revenue through various earnings like brokerage and commissions.
• Strategic Communication: Communicate principals’ priorities and objectives to internal teams, including Retail Sales Managers, Sales Technology Managers, Marketing Managers, and the retail selling organization, ensuring effective in-store presence and business objectives are met.
• Relationship Cultivation: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with principals and customers, coordinating market visits and key account calls to foster mutual success and proactive communication.
• Market & Financial Management: Monitor and report competitive activity, maintain current account distribution and market pricing information, and manage financial aspects such as promotional plans, fund balances, and corrective actions for deductions.
• Strategic Presentations & Feedback: Utilize leadership insights and market knowledge to develop and present conceptual sales programs that deliver principals’ objectives, providing direct feedback on strategy effectiveness to principals and General Managers for continuous improvement.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, coupled with a proven track record in sales, preferably from a food broker or national company.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and sales abilities; capable of analyzing sales and marketing data for effective presentations; proficient in various software packages used to support the sales function.
