Store Leader Trainee | 7-Eleven

The TL;DR

• Pay: $13.00–$18.75 hourly
• Team: Works as part of a store leadership team, typically with one or two Assistant Leaders.
• Mission: Drive profitability, develop the store team, and ensure excellent customer service by executing merchandising and marketing initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft products (Word, Excel)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Service Leadership: Oversee, train, and coach all store employees to provide exceptional customer service, fostering an environment where customers are consistently well taken care of.
• Team Retention & Development: Drive high employee retention by focusing on identifying qualified applicants, developing leaders within the team, empowering employees, and encouraging overall team productivity.
• Merchandising & Marketing Implementation: Oversee the successful execution and implementation of all merchandising and marketing programs and initiatives within the store.
• Financial Performance Management: Utilize P&L statements and various store reports to analyze performance and affect positive change, managing all cash handling, fuel transactions, and actively promoting the rewards loyalty program.
• Store Operations & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment by ensuring compliance with all health and sanitation procedures, making certain the store is presentable and all products are consistently in-stock.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a background in management, specifically within a retail setting. While a High School diploma or GED is preferred, it is not strictly required for candidates who possess at least one year of relevant retail management experience.
• Experience: Candidates must demonstrate at least one year of retail management experience or equivalent previous supervisory experience, ideally with a focus on team leadership and operational oversight.
• Skills: Essential skills include excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel; demonstrated ability to use P&L and store reports; and the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include possessing a High School diploma or GED, and maintaining a valid Driver’s License from the state of residence with automotive liability insurance throughout the course of employment.
