Analyst/Sr Analyst, Regional Strategy and Business Planning | American Airlines
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at American Airlines, likely located in Texas, USA. American Airlines provides global travel opportunities through an extensive flight network, and this position plays a critical part in optimizing a significant portion of the airline’s daily operations. This role is essential for improving the performance and efficiency of American Airlines’ regional business by working with various internal and external groups to make impactful operational and strategic decisions.
The TL;DR

• Team: Regional Planning and Strategy organization
• Mission: Examine all aspects of the regional business to directly improve performance for nearly half of American Airline’s daily departures.
• Tech Stack: Excel modeling, PowerPoint presentation development
What You’ll Actually Do
• Liaise: Improve flight schedules by collaborating with Network Planning and Crew Planning teams at partner airlines for pilot and flight attendant productivity.
• Drive: Enhance operational reliability through the implementation of targeted schedule improvement initiatives.
• Act: Serve as the external point of contact and internal source of truth for crew capability information from regional carriers.
• Lead: Coordinate workforce planning readiness initiatives, including tracking and reporting, across six regional carriers and two ground handlers.
• Develop: Create forecasts and presentations to provide internal recommendations regarding staffing supportability and special programs.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Aviation, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: At least 3+ years of commercial or operational experience, with preferred experience in areas like Network Planning, Crew Planning, Operations Planning, Financial Planning, Revenue Management, or Fleet Planning.
• Skills: Advanced experience with Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation development, sound strategic business analysis acumen with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.
• Bonus: An MBA is helpful but not required; a passion for making things better and an action-oriented disposition.
