Founded by Elon Musk in 2002, SpaceX designs, manufactures, and launches the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft to revolutionize space transportation and enable multiplanetary life. The company made history in 2010 as the only private entity to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, and again in 2012 when its Dragon spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station—a challenging feat previously accomplished only by governments.
