What You’ll Actually Do
• Order Selection: Accurately pick and retrieve products to fulfill customer orders destined for various foodservice venues. This involves navigating the warehouse to locate specific items required for each order.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate essential warehouse equipment, including an electric pallet jack and/or forklift, to transport and manage products throughout the facility.
• Order Assembly: Systematically organize and palletize selected products to build complete and stable customer orders, preparing them for the next stage of the supply chain.
• Warehouse Environment Management: Work diligently within varying warehouse temperature zones, including non-refrigerated, refrigerated, and freezer sections, while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Physical Product Handling: Engage in frequent physical activity, including lifting products that typically weigh between 10 to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. This involves reaching, bending, and twisting to access products.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level operational role requiring no prior college degree or specific warehouse experience. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for this position.
• Experience: A minimum of 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience is required, demonstrating a foundational work ethic or exposure to physically demanding roles.
• Skills: Candidates must possess the physical capability to frequently lift products weighing between 10 and 75 pounds, with the ability to handle items up to 100 pounds. This role requires the ability to frequently reach up to 72 inches and to constantly bend and twist, particularly when operating equipment and retrieving items from lower shelves. Furthermore, the ability to work consistently on your feet for 10 to 12 hours daily in environments with extreme temperature variations, including cooler and freezer sections, is essential.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include at least 1 year of experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift. Candidates with 1 year of experience in warehouse operations, military service, or other physically active job roles are also highly valued. Additionally, 1 year of selection experience and a consistent work history of 2 years are preferred assets.
