• Mission: This intern will spearhead the development and ongoing maintenance of a centralized SharePoint portal designed to house and streamline critical technical documentation for all company systems and applications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build and Maintain Knowledge Portal: You will take the lead in building, structuring, and continuously maintaining a comprehensive SharePoint knowledge portal specifically tailored for VSE Aviation’s diverse systems and applications. This involves thoughtful design and organization to ensure optimal usability.
• Collaborate for Documentation Collection: You will actively work in close collaboration with system administrators and dedicated developers to systematically gather, review, and consolidate essential runbooks, detailed diagrams, and crucial technical documentation from various sources.
• Ensure Documentation Accuracy and Currency: You will be responsible for meticulously updating runbooks, architectural diagrams, and other technical documentation, ensuring that all information within the SharePoint knowledge portal remains accurate, relevant, and consistently current for all users.
• Create Informative Visualizations: You will design and produce clear, concise flowcharts and detailed architectural diagrams that simplify complex system structures and operational workflows, thereby enhancing understanding across technical teams.
• Develop Service Request Forms: You will explore and potentially undertake the creation of new ServiceNow request forms, aiming to further streamline and automate key operational processes and information requests within the organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: You are a student currently pursuing an academic program, ideally with a focus on information technology, knowledge management, information systems, computer science, or a closely related technical discipline. This role is designed for individuals seeking practical, hands-on experience in a corporate environment.
• Experience: You should possess foundational experience or have completed relevant academic projects related to SharePoint site development, content management, information architecture, or the creation of technical documentation. Any practical exposure to organizing digital information will be beneficial.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in SharePoint administration or content management features is required. Strong capabilities in creating clear and effective technical documentation, along with the ability to design logical diagrams, are essential. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills are also key for working with various teams.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to or familiarity with ServiceNow, or similar enterprise-level IT service management platforms, would be considered a valuable advantage for this project.
