Graphic Design Marketing Intern | Flint Firebirds
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Flint Firebirds, located in Flint, MI. Flint Firebirds is building a creative team focused on owning real parts of the brand and fan experience, encouraging interns to bring their own ideas. This role matters because the work produced directly impacts real audiences, appearing in arenas, on screens, in stores, and in fans’ hands, providing hands-on experience rather than a “watch and learn” approach.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Graphics: Design game day and live event graphics, brand campaigns, sponsor assets, and animated/LED content for various platforms.
• Print: Produce diverse print materials, including store signage, season ticket books, game programs, schedules, and apparel designs.
• Digital: Develop website and app assets, along with planning and executing promotions for digital and sales platforms like Dash.
• Retail: Manage retail planning, store graphics, heat press production, and asset management for merchandise.
• Marketing: Contribute to promotional calendars and campaign planning, ensuring visual consistency across all marketing efforts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student from a creative or design background, including graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Experience: A portfolio showcasing a real creative range and excellence in a specific creative discipline.
• Skills: Ability to take ownership, work fast without compromising quality, operate independently, and proactively flag problems.
• Bonus: Within driving distance of Dort Arena, capable of accommodating a 12-hour per week schedule including some evenings and weekends, and access to Adobe Creative Cloud.
