Job Description & What You’ll Do
As an Unarmed Patrol Roundsman in a healthcare location in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in crucial industries. You will be a vital part of maintaining a safe and secure environment while interacting professionally with staff, patients, and visitors. This role offers flexibility and opportunity through our Claim a Shift platform.
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or unusual conditions.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely communication with site leadership and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Control access by monitoring entry points, checking credentials as directed, and/or assisting with visitor management and wayfinding while maintaining a professional presence.
- Complete thorough security-related reports and logs, document incidents and observations accurately, and/or communicate shift updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
