• Team: Clinical Nurses report to a Nurse Manager/Director within the 5 Neurosciences – Child, Adolescent and Eating Disorders Inpatient Psychiatry Unit.
• Mission: Coordinate and deliver competent clinical nursing care to child, adolescent, and eating disorder patients utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Education: Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning needs, and with assistance, educate patients, families, and caregivers on relevant materials by assessing their readiness and developmental levels.
• Care Evaluation: Identify expected patient outcomes and engage with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and revise patient care plans, communicating relevant information for continuity of care.
• Care Implementation: Deliver competent patient care for individuals with complex problems, addressing appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects in accordance with healthcare organization and nursing standards.
• Professional Leadership: Develop goals for professional growth, contribute to unit goals and performance improvement activities, and promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all.
• Patient Assessment: Synthesize complex patient data to determine care priorities, including physical, psychosocial, education, and safety needs, and anticipate discharge requirements for individuals and their families.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional nurse who has graduated from a school of professional nursing, with a commitment to enroll and obtain a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing within seven years if hired after January 6, 2014.
• Experience: Less than six months of experience as a Registered Nurse, with no prior experience specifically required for this role. Candidates must be in their final semester of nursing school or have graduated within the past 12 months to qualify for the New Graduate Residency program.
• Skills: Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification prior to the first day of employment.
