Cashier | Memorial Hospital
The Tone:
This is a part-time role at Memorial Hospital, located at the Shiloh facility. Memorial Hospital Shiloh is a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital recognized with Magnet status in 2018 for nursing excellence, providing comprehensive healthcare services including emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, plus critical care. The hospital is deeply dedicated to providing quality care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of its patients and community. As a Cashier in the hospital’s Coffee Shop, which serves the public with grab-and-go items, you will play a vital part in supporting daily operations and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors and staff who utilize this service.
The TL;DR
• Role: Part Time
• Type: Part-time (20 Hours/Week), with rotating shifts including weekdays (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to close), every other weekend (9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), and rotating holidays.
• Location: Shiloh, IL (In-person)
• Team: Works within the Coffee Shop team, which is part of the hospital’s cafeteria operations.
• Mission: To fulfill essential cafeteria functions, contributing to smooth and efficient operations by accurately handling transactions, maintaining sanitation, and providing excellent customer service.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Processing: Precisely perform all customer sales transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while strictly adhering to department cash-handling policies and procedures.
• Cash Management: Maintain the accuracy and security of the cash drawer at all times throughout your shift.
• Customer Satisfaction: Actively assist with the resolution of customer service problems and promptly address customer requests to enhance overall satisfaction.
• Stocking Support: Contribute to the team by assisting with re-stocking food areas, ensuring items are readily available for customers.
• Sanitation Compliance: Consistently comply with all sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within the Coffee Shop.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is suitable for early-career individuals who are eager to contribute to a healthcare environment. No prior supervisory experience is required.
• Experience: Less than two years of general work experience is needed. Previous experience in roles involving cash handling or customer service would be beneficial.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform accurate cash handling procedures, provide excellent customer service, and adhere to strict sanitation guidelines is essential.
• Bonus: A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate is preferred for this position.
