Position Summary

Custodians play a key role in operations and the overall campus experience by helping to keep spaces clean, safe, and ready for each day. A variety of equipment, as well as manual cleaning tools, will be used to complete tasks.

This position is part of a pool of on-call custodial staff who fill in, as needed, to maintain facilities across campus during staff absences, events, or peak workload periods.

Essential Functions

• Cleaning of Buildings: Includes dusting, cleaning windows, floors, walls, and furniture, restroom fixtures, toilets, sinks, etc. This involves the appropriate use of custodial supplies and equipment.
• Interior Space Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining interior spaces from the ceiling to the floor. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning light fixtures, replacing light bulbs, cleaning HVAC supply and return vents, and changing HVAC filters depending on their location.
• Collaboration: Assist other employees as needed.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work days, evenings, and/or weekend hours as necessary.
• Reliability: Arrive on time for work and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
• Compliance: Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

Secondary/Support Functions

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director and/or Coordinators of the Facilities department.
